Nadi (pronounced Nandi) is Fiji’s third largest city and is the main gateway to Fiji. As Fiji’s airport town, Nadi is where most visitors hear their first BULA. Nadi Airport is 9km / 5.4miles from Nadi town. The Nadi Airport area has a number of hotels and is a popular place to start your Fijian adventures. use as a base for exploring or use a a stopover when connecting to the other island. The domestic terminal for flights to other parts or Viti Levu or the outer islands is only a short walk from Nadi's airports international arrivals. Rental vehicles can also be picked up from the airport.

The Sugar City
Some 30 minutes drive to the north of the Nadi International Airport is Lautoka, the second-largest city in Fiji.Lautoka lies in the heart of Fiji sugarcane growing country and that's how it gets its title "the Sugar City." Sugar cane is the major industry of Fiji and Lautoka is the base. During the harvest season a constant procession of "sugar cane trains" flow past on their way to Lautoka's sugar mill at the southern end of the town.In the heart of the city Lautoka's main street, Vitogo Parade, is lined with tall, royal palm trees. The downtown area is within walking distance taking you past many shops and restaurants. In town you will find Churchill Park and the Botanical Gardens just a few blocks away. The market is only surpassed in size by the one in Suva and shares the same fascinating blend of colours and aromas.Lautoka is also the embarkation point for many cruises and transfers to the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands including Blue Lagoon Cruises. Lautoka can be reached by car, taxi, local and express bus from Nadi.
